{Style Icons} Sky Ferreira

I'm aware its been over a week since I've posted anything but unfortunately my beautiful canon SLR  camera is in Jamaica accompanying my best friend Blair Stutz as a a small present for her 18th birthday  {Congrats Blair! Your finally a woman and I can't call you my baby Blair anymore!}. But, because I've been dying to post something on here, I'm breaking my usual blogging format and showing you guys my personal style idol!

Meet the incredibly talented and incredibly stylish Sky Ferreira. 

I first found Sky in Nylon magazines Music Issue which pictured her in a blue denim dress with her normally crazy, sexy wavy hair flat ironed pin straight. From what i saw and read, this girl looked sick. I immediately went to the computer and typed her up on Google and not only was her music great, but her look truly inspired me! I myself have never had a style idol but her dramatically playful, young look definitely stuck with me. She kinda reminded me of a hipster version of Ke$ha but 20x more beautiful and less cracked out. None the less, I can;t wait until this new artist makes a huge impact on the world of  music and fashion very soon;)

Fake Chanel Sweater

This morning I paired my favorite new brunt orange, paper-bag shorts with a cream lace top for added femininity. I also paired the top items with a Chanel inspired sweater and a great pair of wedges to spice the outfit up a little more.

I Miss The Comfort In Being Sane

Day#2 in showcasing what my daddy bought me on Monday;

Today I desperately wanted to wear my Nirvana t-shirt, but after my partner in crime Blair and I searched and destroyed my wardrobe in search of those perfect pair of pants to go with the tee and failed miserably. I was ready to put it away for the winter when Blair turns to me and says "why don't you just wear it like that" and tah dah! Now my great rocker tee is now a great over sized dress

To keep this from looking too rock'n'roll I layered a a slouchy but classic blazer along with a fun pair of socks and heels which made my legs look fabulous (even though I might be biased) and didnt take away any attention from the t-shirt.

I Wish You Were a Song to Play

So today marks my dad's 51st birthday and whose getting all the gifts? Me surprisingly enough!

{Well actually he didn't buy buy me anything for my birthday or Christmas, so we call it even}

Yesterday, my dad took me out for a special family day treat to Urban Outfitter's and got me the adorable dress I wore above, an oversize Nirvana tee, and a great pair of brunt orange paper bag shorts. Safe to say it was a great way to spend a Monday!

Today I decided to parade the hallways of school in my new cream lace dress. To help give the bland dress some color I added burgundy high thighs and a navy blue blazer, plus they helped with Toronto's current freezing temperatures!

Reminiscing on that Sunshine State of Mind

It's been about approx 3 days since my safe return from Del Ray Beach, Florida and it's easy to say I wish I never left! There must be something in the water down there because not only was the sunshine pleasant but overall throughout the duration of my stay , I just felt lighter and happier as a person. As for here in Canada? Not so much. With storm warnings every other day my mood has been weighed down with icy temperatures, lack of things to do, and well, icy temperatures. So Today I decided to bring back some of that "Sunshine State of Mind" with my red silk blouse paired with my striped sweater for a fun nautical feel with my peep-toe wedges! To help blend this Southern look with  a bit more of a city girl feel I added liquid leggings, a beret for the cold, and a fun bow tie!

Fun with Fur

 

So as another semester comes close to an end culminating tasks and exams are raining down upon the student body and I. For my photography class we had to shoot photos ion the style of a famous photographer that we have researched. My partner in crime, Blair, and I quickly snatched the two best fashion photographers on the list Nick Knight and Herb Ritts. Today we decided to cover Blair's project and do photos representing the infamous Nick Knight. I modeled, she photographed and this is what we got. 

Here we have a metallic dress paired with a voluminous fur coat that screamed high fashion!
